    Senior Internal Auditor

     

    This is an exciting time to come join Cree | Wolfspeed as we are continuing to build in our internal audit department.  We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our team.  The Senior Internal Auditor will help aid in the completion of risk-based internal audits (operational, compliance, strategy), procedures to support financial reporting required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and consulting engagements, among others.  The qualified candidate will be tasked with partnering with internal and external resources to provide support and documentation of results and related procedures.  This role requires minimal travel to Cree | Wolfspeed subsidiary locations.

    What can you do for Cree | Wolfspeed?

    • Perform internal audit planning and risk assessment activities and develop audit scopes, objectives, and work plans including the selection of appropriate audit tests, identification of key controls, utilization of data analytics, and other audit techniques
    • Assist in performing walk-through and testing procedures of significant business cycles to gain in-depth understanding of transaction flows and operational effectiveness of controls
    • Participate in operational, financial, and compliance internal audits and special projects while ensuring quality and timeliness
    • Collaborate with management to recommend cost-effective solutions to address process challenges, design and control gaps, and operating deficiencies.  Follow-up with management to ensure remediation is adequately implemented.
    • Work effectively in a team environment to plan and perform audit procedures, including the presentation of findings, risks, and recommendations to business process owners and senior management
    • Balance the dual role of independent, objective assurance provider and consultative business partner; guide continuous improvement on internal audit engagements
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures and current developments in auditing and accounting professions

    What you need for success:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline
    • At least 3-6 years of experience in internal audit in a multinational organization or public accounting role
    • CPA, CIA, CFE and/or other relevant certifications
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    • Exceptional organization, time management, and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and due dates simultaneously
    • Ability to operate within teams of different cultures
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
    • Knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS, The IIA Standards, and COSO criteria

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP systems and auditing IT application controls
    • Understanding of data analytics procedures/techniques
    • Prior manufacturing experience

    This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
