    What you need for success:

    Enrollment in an accredited collegiate program

    Maintains a 3.0 GPA or above

    Excellent communication skills

    Relevant Experience

    Ability to work without sponsorship now or in the future

     

    Who You’ll Work With

    The Power Applications team focuses on generating collateral to help customers adopt our technology. In that regard, the internship will involve extensive time in the lab doing hands on experimentation followed up with data analysis and documentation. The Intern will be working on a project that entails the following:

     

    For higher power applications, multiple lower current devices need to be paralleled to achieve the desired current levels for an application. Due to the fact that there is some natural variability in power devices, it is expected that not all paralleled devices will share this current equally. Over the course of the internship, you will

    • research and understand where device variability comes from and how much variance can be expected
    • characterize the relationship between the parameter variability and its impact on static and dynamic mismatch
    • select a matching criteria to optimize sharing
    • validate the matching criteria in a 300 kW inverter utilizing state of the art electrical and thermal characterization equipment
    • collaborate with the team create customer facing application notes to  aid customers who need to parallel multiple devices
