    Wolfspeed is Cree's Power & Radio Frequency (RF) business and one of the world's leading suppliers of gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) technology and products. Our business is growing rapidly and we are hiring a Senior RF/Microwave Power Amplifier Design Engineer to join our team responsible for designing products for the Cellular high-power market.

    What you can do for Wolfspeed:

    The Senior RF/Microwave Design Engineer will be developing high power amplifiers for our Cellular Infrastructure product line using both GaN HEMT and LDMOS technologies. They will design packaged parts and evaluation circuits including Class AB and Doherty circuit topologies to achieve high efficiency operation. They will interface with other departments including technology development and production to help improve products and release products for customers. They will also help mentor junior engineers in their development of RF skills.

    Tasks for the Senior RF/Microwave Design Engineer include:

    • Works closely with cross functional teams including product management, marketing, design, operations, and test engineering.
    • Design package parts using GaN HEMT and LDMOS technologies using simulation software including Microwave Office
    • Design evaluation circuits for characterizing and demonstrating performance of devices with high efficiency topologies such as Doherty circuits
    • Characterize devices using both load pull systems and standard 50 ohm benches
    • Test and tune devices on circuits
    • Share and review data with other teams and customers

    What you need for success:

    BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering

    • 5+ years’ experience in design engineering for RF power amplifiers
    • Experience using simulation for designing RF circuits in Keysight ADS or Microwave office
    • Experience designing Doherty circuits
    • Experience Load pull techniques
    • Experience tuning, matching, and circuit optimization
    • Experience with optimization of circuit linearity for DPD
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, result oriented growth business
