  • Job Description

    Cree is seeking an EE or CE major intern to join our LED Lighting Group located in Durham, NC. The intern will assist the electrical engineering team with power electronics and embedded system development for the next generation LED lighting and intelligent system. The candidate will be assigned tasks that support the design, integration, implementation, testing, and qualification of various sub-systems. A successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional team and solve technical obstacles.


    Job requirement

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
    • Hands-on experience in bench testing and lab equipment – oscilloscope, multi-meter, power supply, etc.
    • Knowledge in microcontroller, power electronics, AC-DC/DC-DC topologies, analog and digital circuits.
    • Demonstrated experiences with C/C++ programming, Python, assembly languages, and embedded system.
    • Perform new product qualification test, troubleshooting, simulation, prototype build, and competitive analysis.
    • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional team to ensure project success.
    • The length of summer internship is 3 months.

    • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills.
    • Strong communication and time management skills.
    • Able to work in fast paced environment.
    • Well organized and able to document processes.
    • Self-starter with strong personal work ethic. Have a “whatever it takes” attitude.
