    Cree's Global Operations is looking for a Global Operations Process Engineer with a proven track record of successful execution in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  This position will work directly with the Equipment and Process Engineering teams in our Silicon Carbide (SiC) Global Operations manufacturing team located at the Corporate Headquarters in Durham, NC.

    • This position will work hand in hand with Operations, Process, Equipment, and Development teams to shape the future of the Manufacturing Processes.


    What can you do for us?

    • Own the Grinding and Surface Finishing/ Polish processes of Silicon Carbide (SiC) wafers
    • Continuous improvement across many new and existing platforms and processes
    • Develop and respond to all OOC conditions on multiple product lines and toolsets
    • Optimize preventative maintenance procedures, document best known methods across areas of ownership. Create and maintain Manufacturing Documents and Procedures as necessary
    • Facilitate and oversee the install of new Manufacturing Equipment. Maintain schedule to meet overall qualifications and project goals
    • Sustaining support, troubleshooting, equipment acceptance and resolving technical issues that may arise in day to day manufacturing
    • Work with Operations team to resolve daily priorities as needed to support manufacturing.


    What you need for success:

    • BS Degree in Engineering with either Process Engineering internship, Co-op, or industry experience.
    • Working knowledge in all SiC wafer grinding and surface finishing processing areas, with evidence of an advanced skill set in one or more of them
    • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support critical tool issues in a 24X7 manufacturing environment
    • Equipment and process troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to rapidly learn new processes and toolsets.
    • Ability to identify process improvements, manage change, and implement solutions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills..
    • Must have a positive, professional, energetic, can-do attitude.


    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • 2+ years of experience as a Process Engineer with semiconductor equipment, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience in the semiconductor Industry
    • Experience with Surface Grinding and Chemical Mechanical Processing (CMP)
    • High level understanding and experience with Statistical Process Control
    • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions
