    CREE | Wolfspeed’s Global Operations team is seeking a Manufacturing Equipiment Maintenance Technician. The primary focus of this position will be to work on a team of engineers, maintenance personnel and production technicians to support production functions in the Wafering department.


    This is a 12-hour night shift position.


    • Performs electro-mechanical root-cause troubleshooting of a variety of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
    • Disassembles, repairs and reassembles equipment according to operating manuals, schematics and blueprints.
    • Perform routine equipment maintenance tasks (cleaning, calibration, or routine service).
    • Utilize the computerized maintenance management systems for inventory control and work scheduling.
    • Handle chemicals to replenish system resources.
    • Assist in development and execution of documented maintenance procedures, best-known methods (BKM), and training.
    • Actively participate in project activities as assigned.
    • Attend scheduled training sessions.
    • Provide communication to all support team members by following proper escalation procedures
    • Backfill team member absences with overtime as required.
    • Exhibit and mandate safe working and housekeeping practices to the team.
    • Foster teamwork and support team-building activities.
    • Provide a positive attitude

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Associates degree in engineering discipline (or equivalent military experience)
    • At least 3 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in the semiconductor environment
    • Experience in the following:
      • Robotics
      • Control circuit troubleshooting
      • Collect, interpret, and communicate data, SPC, graphs, etc.
      • Servo controllers (tuning and setup),
      • Working directly with vendors/equipment OEMs
    • Computer communication protocols (getting online with components, machines, firmware, setup)
    • Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to work independently (troubleshooting and decision-making) and as part of a larger team of technicians
    • Motivated and willing to work hard to help company succeed. Be willing to go above-and-beyond.
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Able to work 12 hours shifts in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be a team player
    • Must have a flexible work schedule and the ability to work overtime on short notice
    • Must be able to lift 40lbs

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
