  • Job Description


    • Perform set-up, calibration, preventative maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and support of Cree Photometric Test Equipment, Applications, and Reports as a service to the organization.


    • Assist in integrating hardware/software/procedural systems for measurement of photometric, spectrometric, and colorimetric applications to the LED Lighting business unit.
    • Provide and support test and measurement activities whether relevant systems are internally implemented, outsourced or some combination thereof.
    • Responsible for performing tests by operating a variety of test equipment ranging from Integrating Spheres, Spectrometers, Goniospectrophotometers, Colorimeters, etc.
    • Offer technical input for departmental and customer documentation, equipment procedures, and calibration procedures.
    • Generate detailed customer reports for communicating the results of testing performed.
    • Maintain technical logs, files and records, databases, troubleshooting guides, and spare parts inventories/lists.
    • Perform execution of certification, verification, calibration, MSA, Gage R&R, and preventative maintenance procedures on an ongoing basis for test and measurement systems and physical standards managed.
    • Proposes and assists in implementing enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
    • Available for after-hours support.
    • Assist with test and measurement equipment installations and training at off-site customer facilities.
    • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required or requested from time to time.


    • Associates or Bachelor degree in an Engineering field or related subject matter preferred.
    • 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
    • Understanding of photometric, colorimetric, and spectrometry a plus.
    • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good technical writing and communication skills required.
    • Strong ability to analyze data and communicate results within a team setting.
    • Familiar with PC-based software tools (Microsoft Office, Excel, JMP, etc.).  


    • Strong personal work ethic.
    • Works independently and is highly motivated.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Resourceful, hands-on, problem solving individual with initiative and drive to work around technical obstacles.
    • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate handling of confidential information
