    Position Title: Manufacturing Systems Service Lead


    Job Summary:

    As a key member of the Global Manufacturing Systems Team you will lead design and development of strategy and standard of various manufacturing system services which cover all aspect of system services including services portfolio, systems architecture, system roadmap, systems resiliency, operation efficiency and supportability.   You will work with manufacturing leaders to develop technology-based services that align technology solutions with business strategies to support manufacturing operation worldwide in enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of their manufacturing processes, then define and execute a roadmap to bring that vision to life. The successful candidate will provide transformational leadership with an emphasis on manufacturing strategy alignment and project delivery. You will work to create overall manufacturing service portfolio with mixture of commercial and in-house developed systems. We will also lead standardization and development best practice for in-house application development in order to modernize legacy applications. As a leader in the IT organization, you will help drive our continuous improvement efforts as we build an efficient, ITIL focused organization that is recognized as a trusted global business partner.

    • Lead the partnership, and value delivery, between IT and the manufacturing operation.
    • Understand manufacturing operation strategy and define business requirements.
    • Provide overall direction, governance and development of manufacturing systems service design covering systems architecture, system roadmap, systems resiliency, operation efficiency and supportability
    • Work with manufacturing delivery team in formulating manufacturing system service strategy and portfolio
    • Provides strategic consultancy support to delivery team in all aspects of enabling defined manufacturing system services to meet business needs. Provides expertise on architecture design or improvement.
    • Participates in defining business case of investments in IT. Understands Cree manufacturing operation how they affect the way systems are designed
    • Define roadmaps and business cases, and champion their acceptance.
    • Work with Enterprise architecture team to ensure manufacturing services solution adhere to IT Architecture principles and guidelines.
    • Manage vendors, contractors, and internal IT resources.
    • Work with Solution Support and Service Desk to design and deliver infrastructure required to support new IT solutions.

    What you need for success?

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 10+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of Manufacturing functional area such as MES and Factory automation
    • Ability to make architecture changes in a dynamic agile environment.
    • Proficient in service oriented architecture (SOA), messaging, object-oriented programming concepts, multi-tiered distributed component based technology, legacy infrastructure platforms and technologies, and enterprise service bus
    • Ability to lead implementation projects/teams
    • Ability to develop an organization and lead people
    • Flexible in working in virtual team in different location and different time zone
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with systems integration
    • Excellent written and oral communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to travel (10%) domestically and internationally

    Highly preferred skills and certifications

    • Experience with manufacturing, ideally in the semiconductor industry
    • Solution Architecture Professional Certification
