  • Job Description

    Job Summary 

    • Lead the Cree Lighting's Global Commodity Management team in their drive to create a world-class supply base that delivers high quality, competitively priced products in a very short amount of time to our plants and customers.
    • Responsible for all sourcing decisions, as well as decision making and purchasing, for Cree Lighting's existing and new products.
    • Ensure the supply base can support the innovations that have made Cree famous. 
    • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Engineering teams on supplier issues to ensure early supplier involvement in new designs and a supply base that supports Cree’s Lighting technology roadmap.  
    • Set strategic direction for Cree’s existing supply base, defining a higher level of expectations, including innovative delivery programs that reduce lead times, collaborative programs that reduce the total cost of ownership, and improved supplier process capabilities that reduce purchased part defects.
    • Lead the identification and on-boarding of new high-performance suppliers globally.
    • Drive the negotiation of large supplier contracts and pricing, as well defining and implementing the policies and procedures that govern the purchasing process and supplier management process.

    What you need for success:

    • 10-15 years of experience in supplier management, supply chain management, strategic sourcing and/or a combination of experience and education within supply chain.
    • The ability to demonstrate a passion for the Supply Chain role and motivation to develop themselves and team.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Business
    • 25-35% travel including international

     

    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society)  CPIM or CSCP
    • Institute for Supply Management – ISM or CPSM certifications
    • Master’s degree
