    Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

    Cree is seeking a Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to be part of its Corporate Controllership team. This position will lead and manage the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting functions for Cree. The Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will report to Cree’s Corporate Controller. Cree is a $1.5 billion dollar, publicly traded manufacturing company in the semi-conductor and LED lighting business.

    What can you do for Cree?

    • Own and manage the SEC Reporting for Cree.
    • Be Cree’s Technical Accounting expert for all GAAP and SEC requirements.
    • Develop processes to ensure appropriate accounting for Equity Compensation, Impairment Testing, Revenue Recognition and Acquisition Accounting
    • Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards
    • Implement new accounting standards
    • Prepare technical accounting memos to support Cree’s accounting conclusions and support year end audit requirements
    • Ensure proper controls over Financial reporting and SEC reporting.
    • Update / maintain process documentation and transaction support to satisfy external and internal auditors.
    • Supervises, trains, and mentors staff.

    What you need for success:

    • Degree in accounting.
    • Organized professional with 8+ years of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting experience
    • Extensive Experience with SEC Reporting, Equity Accounting, and Mergers and Acquisitions is a must.
    • Experience with semiconductor cost accounting processes and systems
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with business leaders at all levels
    • Proven track record of leadership experience
    • Strong controls and process mindset and skills
    • Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP skills

    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • CPA
    • Prior Big 4 Public Accounting or Public Company SEC/Technical Accounting experience required.
    • Experience with Oracle or SAP scale ERP system
