    Job Summary:

    We currently have a need for a Photolithography Process Engineer within our Power & RF group located at our Research Triangle Park facility in the Raleigh, NC area.  The engineer chosen for this position will be a key member of Cree's Power & RF wafer fab sustaining engineering team responsible for the process engineering functions of a 24x7 wide band gap semiconductor fab operation.

    What can you do for Cree?

    • Sustain and improve lithography and metrology processes for SiC and GaN power and RF device fabrication.
    • Interface with equipment engineering, management, and manufacturing to improve cycle time, tool availability, process/product yield, and drive cost reductions.
    • Partner with product engineering and R&D to ensure effective new product and process introductions as well as consistent device performance and quality.    
    • Provide technical process development leadership for 150mm wafer size upgrade.
    • Create and maintain operating specifications for production processes and equipment.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

    What you need for success:

    • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Equivalent. 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of photolithography, metrology, and associated processes and equipment.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of 24x7 manufacturing.
    • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
    • Process control and problem-solving skills (SPC, DOE, FMEA, 8D, PDCA).
    • Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder. 

    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Equivalent. 
    • 3-5 yrs Wafer Fab Engineering Experience, ideally with compound semiconductors.
    • Specific experience with wafer patterning including coat, expose, and develop modules; contact and stepper lithography experience is preferred.
    • Strong experience with metrology processing and applied statistics (SPC/DOE/ANOVA).
    • In-depth technical understanding of semiconductor processes, process controls, and manufacturing equipment.
    • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization.
