Cree is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the team here at our global headquarters in Durham, NC. This position will work on 1st shift, Monday - Friday, but the specific hours have not yet been determined. As a member of the Materials Equipment team, this candidate will perform equipment startup, modifications, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance on production and R&D systems. This role will interact directly with process engineering and other groups to meet department and Cree goals. This role will also be responsible for a diverse mixture of activities with a strong emphasis on hands-on mechanical fabrication, gas line assembly and fabrication, electrical cable routing, detailed point-to-point wiring, and other equipment design implementation and fabrication activities.
What you need for success:
This will be a very “hands on” position. A "wrench turner" who can come in and contribute from day one with little instruction. They will be using basic hand tools to put together medium size machines (the size of car).
