    Cree currently has openings for Process Development Engineers within our R&D group at our headquarters in Durham, NC. This includes our NPI, Automotive, Epitaxy, Wafer fab, and LED components groups.

    In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and transfer into production new LED-based solid state lighting products and processes.

    • Flexible work schedule to support 24 x 7 development and manufacturing

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BS/MS in Applied Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other technical field.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Semiconductor/manufacturing process development or relevant co-op or internship experience.
    • Solid understanding of solid state physics and fundamentals of materials science.
    • Experience with different semiconductor or LED process development areas (e.g. wire bonding, die attach, encapsulation, optical and electrical testing, wafer fabrication, MOCVD, epitaxial growth, photolithography, wet/dry etch, automotive quality standards, etc.).
