    Job Summary


    You will support Wolfspeed to proactively seek and manage quality improvement activities across all aspects of the manufacturing operation. These activities will include incoming quality control, material review boards (MRBs), process change review boards (PCRBs), failure analysis and returned material authorization (RMA) process, supplier corrective action reports (SCARs), internal and external quality management system audits, risk assessments, and 8D-based problem solving among others.


    Additionally, you will have the chance to work on various projects related to business process improvement, process flows, process documentation, and efficiency and effectiveness key process indicator and metric review and development. The job is located in our headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.

    What can you do for Wolfspeed?

    • Identify, evaluate, and help prioritize potential gaps associated with incoming quality control
    • Facilitate regular MRB and PCRB reviews with critical internal stakeholders, drive root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions
    • Facilitate regular SCAR reviews with suppliers, drive root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions
    • Assist with internal, registrar, and supplier audits to assess maturity level and compliance to quality management system requirements (based on ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 standards)
    • Work with manufacturing, product and process engineering, supply chain, and R&D to determine future material needs and supplier requirements
    • Drive risk analysis and mitigation activities based on established methodologies
    • Drive QMS business process improvement activities
    • Participate and help lead in development and amendment of control plans and FMEAs (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)

    What you need for success:

    • Must be a US citizen or green card holder
    • BS in Engineering, Science, or Statistics. Master's degree is a plus
    • 5+ Years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Working knowledge of electrical circuits and components
    • 2+ Years of experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems requirements
    • Strong statistical analysis skills (SPC, MSA/GR&R, DOE, etc.)
    • Experience with continuous improvement processes (Lean methodologies, etc.)
    • Experience with risk assessment methodologies
    • Experience with a formal quality management system (software)
    • Excellent problem solving skills (8D, KT, or similar) 
    • Must be able to work independently, be highly motivated, and have excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Be able to do work in a cleanroom environment

    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • Training and 1+ years of experience with ISO/TS 6949 or IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management System Standard is highly desirable
    • Six sigma green belt or black belt (SSGB/BB), and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certifications are highly desirable
    • Wafer processing experience extremely helpful
    • Familiarity with automotive change management including APQP and PPAP
