    Job Summary

    As a part of a newly organized team responsible for managing factory controls, there is an open position as a Process Controls Engineer with a focus on Statistical Process Control (SPC).

    What can you do for Wolfspeed?

    • Drive effective use of Statistical Process Control throughout the manufacturing process, including Process, Equipment, Yield, and Operations teams
    • Organize and drive cross-functional teams in key variability reduction, CpK improvement efforts
    • Accountability for optimized SPC reports and dashboards and their use by the organization
    • Manage daily and periodic SPC review and continuous improvement activities
    • Learn and maintain direct, hands-on knowledge of the process, equipment, and technology by self-guided training and in-fab experience
    • Participate in efforts to provide optimized measurement, including sample rates, of inline product balancing factors including yield opportunities, capacity, research, development, high-volume manufacturing, manual operations, measurement equipment capabilities, and line process and equipment control
    • Participate in supplier/developer interactions for fab software


    What you need for success:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering, statistics, or science curriculum
    • 5+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience
    • In-depth understanding of Fab SPC management and best practices, including OCAPs and inline monitoring of both electrical performance and defect monitoring
    • General working knowledge of Photolithography, Etch, Deposition, Diffusion, Implant, thinning and thermal processing
    • Working knowledge of both Power & RF devices
    • Must be a team player and have a “whatever it takes” approach
    • Must have a positive, professional, energetic, can-do attitude
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder


    Highly preferred skills and certifications:

    • 5+ years in process controls engineering in a leading-edge semiconductor fab, with a track record of successfully leading variability reduction efforts as measurable in yield, reliability, cycle time, throughput, and/or product quality improvements
    • 3+ years as a certified super-user of the SPACE SPC platform, with the ability to recommend proper configuration based on optimization for a given fab environment
