  • Job Description

     

    Cree is looking to add a Process Sustaining Engineer to our Metal Deposition team. This role will provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area. Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products. Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical cause of failure for yield loss and improving quality. Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

     

    (Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder).

     

    Shift:  2nd Shift, Manufacturing + One Weekend Day (Tues-Sat)

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sustain and improve processes for LED device fabrication.
    • Interface with equipment engineering, management and manufacturing to improve cycle time, tool availability, process/product yield, and drive cost reductions.
    • Partner with product engineering and R&D to ensure effective new product and process introductions as well as consistent device performance and quality.      
    • Create and maintain operating specifications for production processes and equipment.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

     

     

    Required:

    • Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
    • BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Microelectronic Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with industry or internship related experience.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of 24x7 manufacturing. 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

     

     

    Preferred:

    • 3- 5+ yrs Wafer Fab Engineering Experience, ideally with compound semiconductors.
    • In-depth technical understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment.
    • Specific experience with Wafer Fab Metal Deposition processes (evaporation and PVD) preferred.
    • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions.
    • Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization
    • Working knowledge of applied statistics (SPC/DOE)
