    Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Leader

     

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • The primary focus of this position within the NPI process is to quote highly technical commodities meeting criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates and obsolete inventory for assigned commodities.
    • The incumbent will work closely with Operations, Engineering, R&D, Finance, Legal, and other Supply Chain professionals to achieve established goals and business objectives.
    • In this role you will also support a highly dynamic production process and have the opportunity to provide commodity leadership, participate in the development and implementation of negotiation strategies and help manage the commercial relationship with suppliers.
    • Assist with the identification of cost reduction ideas and the implementation of applicable projects.
    • Must maintain adequate inventory to meet customer service levels and established inventory goals.
    • Implement inventory solutions to optimize material flow and handling. (VMI, Kanban, Min/Max, etc.)
    • Complete special assignments for the Supply Chain area as directed. (RoHs, 3TG, Country of Origin)
    • Mentor, lead, and supervise activities of others when required in area of responsibility.

    Required:

    • B.S. Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related fields from an accredited institution.
    • This is a critical role bridging the NPI process and the actions necessary to negotiate pricing and launch programs successfully, working cooperatively with engineering, the suppliers and SQE.  This position has upward mobility to Global Commodity Management, Materials Program Management and Supply Chain management.

    • The candidates must possess product buying knowledge (electrical/electronics) and have excellent communication skills given the cross-functional role supporting NPI.

    • 5-10 years of experience in sourcing and supply chain.

    • Demonstrated experience in the application of procurement processes and contract management.
    • In-depth understanding of ERP systems with emphasis on procurement, MRP, payables, receiving and inventory modules.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to drive change.
    • Self-directed, self-motivated, works successfully in a fast-paced environment.
    • Skilled in the art of problem solving, issue resolution and change management in dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated understanding of key financial metrics.
    • Ability to travel as required.

     

    Preferred:

    • MBA, Supply Chain certification and/or desire to further education.
    • Experience working in a high volume and high technology industry.
    • Knowledge of and experience with Oracle
    • Experience with new product advanced planning processes (i.e.: Advanced Product Quality Planning - APQP) are highly desirable.
    • Fundamental understanding and practical application implementations of process improvement and/or continuous improvement activities within an office environment.
