    Cree is looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Specialist with a willingness to focus on equipment documentation and safety compliance.  This position will work directly with the Equipment and Process Engineering teams in our Power & RF Epitaxy group located in Durham, NC.

    • Collaborate with R&D, Process, and Equipment teams to shape the future of the department. 


    What can you do for Wolfspeed?

    • Work with engineering and facilities teams to evaluate equipment, compile and track OEM specification sheets and manuals, and author safety compliance documentation.
    • Oversee our Process Safety Management (PSM) program. In collaboration with EH&S, collaborate with process and equipment teams to maintain all needed regulatory compliance.  Assist with organization and accumulation of PSM documentation.
    • Validate drawings and schematics for correctness and conformance to standards.
    • Work with facilities and contractors to update and maintain P&ID drawings for the department.
    • Interface with vendors and contractors to support compliance testing.
    • Work with Equipment team to resolve daily priorities as needed to support manufacturing.
    • Work with team to re-design hardware and components as needed.
    • Interface directly with tool suppliers for installs, support, troubleshooting, equipment acceptance and resolving technical issues that may arise in day to day manufacturing.


    What you need for success:

    • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent years of manufacturing or equipment maintenance experience.
    • Must be a US Citizen or green card holder as we cannot sponsor for this position.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
    • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support critical tool issues in a 24X7 manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to identify equipment improvements, manage change, and implement solutions.
    • Must be a team player and have a “whatever it takes” approach.


    Preferred skills and certifications:

    • 1-2 years of experience in the semiconductor Industry.
    • 1-2 years of experience as an Equipment Engineer.
    • Experience with CVD systems.
    • Background in equipment engineering with experience in the following: vacuum systems, electro-mechanical systems and robotics, gas distribution, high temperature furnaces, and control systems..
    • Training in the handling of hazardous chemicals, gases, and materials.
