    Summary:

    Cree/Wolfspeed is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hands-on semiconductor test engineer who will be part of a team responsible for electrical characterization of power (MOSFET) and RF (GaN HEMT) on-wafer level testing in a volume manufacturing (clean room) environment.  Responsibilities will include designing, building, and qualifying electrical test systems, supporting various engineering activities required to keep production tools/test equipment running smoothly and providing daily production support as needed.  A successful candidate will be resourceful, works well with Engineering teams and Operations team, excellent problem solver with the capacity to quickly resolve a wide range of technical hardware and software challenges.

     

    Duties include:

    • Build, optimize, and sustain calibrated test stations which run in a 24/7 production environment
    • Maintain production test consumable items such as probe cards (including spares) and equipment spare parts to minimize tool down time
    • Generate and improve process and procedure documentations for production test systems
    • Perform on-wafer and bare-die level probing/testing
    • Work with Process Engineers and Product Engineers to design, execute, and analyze electrical and mechanical experiments to improve measurement, product quality and yield
    • Oversee training and certification of production personnel for production test systems
    • Develop and analyze daily and weekly process checks and scheduled preventative tasks for production test systems
    • Resolve and document various production issues during production testing when escalated by production technicians and/or equipment maintenance teams
    • Help with product disposition through test data review using provided data analysis tools/scripts

    Requirements:

    • Candidate must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, or other related field (e.g. physics)
    • 3 or more years of test engineering experience in volume 24/7 semiconductor production environment
    • Hands-on experience with manufacturing operations and knowledge of electrical test equipment such source measurement units (SMUs), Probers (EG and Cascade), Oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and digital multi-meters (DMMs)
    • Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills to diagnose test system issues
    • Basic knowledge of SPC and experimental design
    • Experience developing and debugging object-oriented programing languages (C#, VB)
    • Proficient at writing, reading, and understanding technical documents and work instructions
    • Strong aptitude in word processing, spreadsheet, data preparation, and general computer skills
    • Understanding of safety protocols for electricity and chemicals
    • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds and at every level of the organization
    • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time
    • Must have excellent English communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5 or more years of test engineering in volume RF semiconductor 24/7 production environment
    • 3 years’ experience directly supporting wafer probe testing
    • Experience measuring RF FET and amplifier performance.
    • Experience with SQL Queries, including Join.
    • Extensive data analysis skills (Access, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
    • Extensive experience with SPC and experimental design.
    • Experience with compound semiconductor FET concepts and technologies.
    • In-depth technical knowledge of semiconductor wafer probing equipment.
