Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Materials Program Manager within our Materials – Commercial Lighting group. The ideal candidate will be located in Racine, WI. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

 

  • Manage new product launches, product line transfers from a Supply Chain-Materials standpoint
  • Participate in all program team meetings for assigned projects
  • Achieve all NPI project timing, milestones, and Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • In conjunction with Engineering and Supply Chain, set, monitor, and achieve program cost targets
  • Communicate component supply status & risks for assigned projects.
  • Work with Global Commodity Manager’s and Senior Buyers to drive sourcing decisions
  • Coordinate the initiation of work orders for project material drives with Operations
  • Manage Clear to Build (CTB) status and resolution of shortages to ensure material is in place for project builds
  • Final review of item masters, drawings, and BOM's for successful handoff to production
  • Conduit between Engineering Program Managers, Operations Program Managers, Global Commodity Managers, and Senior Buyers
  • Communicate purchase price variance status resulting from engineering changes or forecast variance on assigned projects
  • Manages the full purchased part Bill of Materials (BOM) ensuring that material is sourced to meet program timing milestones, cost objectives, and are available to support key program build events
  • Expedite material drive with CM with assistance from MSM, if appropriate

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • B.S. Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related fields from an accredited institution OR
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of procurement processes and contract management
  • In-depth understanding of ERP systems with emphasis on procurement, MRP, payables, receiving and inventory modules
  • Understanding of a phase-gate NPI product development process
  • Strong organizational skills to manage complex programs with complex BOM content
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to excel in a cross-functional team structure, and proven strength to influence people where there is no direct authority
  • Ability to manage multiple complex programs, oversee project timelines, and drive the organization to meet the program objectives
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, works successfully in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Skilled in the art of problem solving, issue resolution, and change management when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Demonstrated understanding of key financial metrics
  • Ability to travel but is not required

 

Preferred:

  • MBA, Supply Chain certification(s) and/or desire to further education
  • Experience working in a high volume and high technology industry
  • Knowledge of and experience with Oracle
