Senior Security Architect

This hands-on technical team lead role will focus on developing and maintaining enterprise security infrastructure to provide effective security for Cree globally. The ideal candidate will bring passion and sense of ownership to the job with good communication skills, technical expertise and creativity. This is a high-visibility role, interacting with upper management, business units and other IT units globally. This is a challenging position that will shape the direction and design of all Cree’s systems.

What can you do for Cree?

  • Architect, design, implement, maintain and support all security tools and services
  • Work with security vendors and partners to ensure maximum benefit is received
  • Manage security projects and / or participate in all ongoing internal projects to provide security SME support
  • Evaluate and enhance new and existing security processes, tools and services
  • Identify gaps, risks and issues proactively and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them
  • Research and recommend innovative and effective security solutions which leverage available resources, focusing on integration and automation simplify operational overhead
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to develop junior team members

What you need for success:

  • 5+ years of security experience
  • Strong security design and documentation skill
  • Strong knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of integrity in the conduct of personal and professional affairs
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems
  • Solid understanding Active Directory infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of security incident management
  • Experience in project management
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, LAN, WAN, SSL, Firewall, Load Balancer, and DMZ configurations.

Highly preferred skills & certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical major (Engineering, Computer Science, etc) or equivalent work experience
  • CISSP certification desirable
  • Identity and Access Management experience
  • Ability to automate via scripting
  • Vendor management
