Job Summary Cree is searching for a Powder Paint Team Leader on 1st Shift <2nd Shift> at its Racine, Wisconsin facility to paint and lead a team of painters to provide a world class finish to Cree’s indoor and outdoor light fixtures.  The Powder Paint Team Leader will also be tasked with understanding Cree’s finishing process, equipment, and resources.  The Powder Paint Team Lead will partner with the shift Supervisor to ensure safety, quality, and delivery.  This role requires self-motivation and the ability to work well independently as well as a team player.

  What can you do for Cree?

  • Operates powder booth that coat products and materials with paints.
  • Regulates temperatures of powder coating cure oven.
  • Monitors and corrects quality of finished parts.
  • Cleans powder booths, ovens, cooling chambers, conveyor, hoses and nozzles, spray guns and powder room.
  • Perform color changes.
  • Makes minor repairs to equipment.
  • Processes required paperwork for ISO 9000 certification.
  • Assists others on powder painting, baking of parts, preparation of materials of painting, and proper cleaning of equipment, booth and work area.
  • Ensures all powder paint equipment is operating within specifications.
  • Creates and corrects powder paint ISO work instructions.
  • Trains others on powder painting, baking of parts, preparation of materials of painting, and proper cleaning of equipment, booth and work area.
  • Notifies Plant Manager / Production Supervisor of operational progress, problems, and supply requirements.
  • Performs paint and powder paint room spare parts inventory.

What you need for success:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Reading and writing ability.
  • Minimum six months on line to learn parts.
  • Minimum two to three years on the job training
